Obituary

Florence Marie Jagielski (Galeski), born on March 11, 1946, in Wyandotte, Michigan, passed away on December 3, 2025, in Gibraltar, Michigan, at the age of 79.

Florence was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who dedicated her life to her family and community. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Edward and Stella Galeski, and her dear brother, Patrick Galeski.

She leaves behind her devoted husband, Joseph Jagielski, with whom she shared a lifetime of love and companionship. Florence is also survived by her two daughters, Ann (Chris Martin) Jagielski, and Susan Wiley. Her legacy continues through her three grandchildren, Brandon Wiley, Jason Martin, and Skyler Wiley, as well as her two great-grandchildren, Mila Wiley and Gwen Wiley, with another eagerly anticipated arrival.

Florence's life was enriched by her six siblings, Honor Butkin, Daniel Galeski, Theodore Galeski, Mary Berardo, Stannie Young, and Burdean Galeski. Together, they formed a close-knit family that celebrated life's joys and supported one another through its challenges.

Deeply involved in her community, Florence was passionate about contributing to the beautification of Gibraltar. Her talents as a master gardener were well-known, and she found joy in sharing her love of nature with others. Florence's vibrant spirit was evident in her participation in social groups like the Over 50 Club and the Red Hat Society, where she forged lasting friendships and brought laughter and warmth to all who knew her.

Known affectionately as the "commander and chief of the war department" within her family, Florence's sense of humor and leadership were treasured by those closest to her. Her memory will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her, and her presence will be deeply missed.

Condolences
