Obituary
Gail Marie Johnson, born on March 19, 1943, in Detroit, MI, passed away peacefully in Osseo, MI. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.
Gail spent four decades as a co-owner of Fairlane Furniture Restores, a business she helped build from the ground up starting in 1973. Her dedication and hard work were evident as she began her career making just $2 an hour and eventually became one of the first women in the United States to work in the restoration business, paving the way for future generations.
Her passions extended beyond her professional life. Gail greatly enjoyed camping and fishing, cherishing the tranquility and beauty of nature. She was also an enthusiastic euchre player and found immense joy in spending time with her grandchildren. Known for her love of shopping, especially on Amazon, Gail also delighted in playing computer games, finding entertainment and relaxation in the digital world.
Gail was preceded in death by her mother, Rena Marie Paull, her father, Will Paull, and her sister, Marsha Dunn. She leaves behind her loving wife, Carol Lucas of 45 years; her daughter, Christine; her son, Kenneth; her cherished grandchildren, Amanda, Phillip, and Drew; and her adored great-grandchildren, Owen and Skylar. Along with her sisters, Val and Lorrie. Gail also embraced Carol’s children—Mike, Debbie, and Robert—as her own, along with their numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Known for her caring, giving, and helpful nature, Gail touched the lives of everyone she met. She lived her life wholeheartedly for her family, always putting their needs before her own and ensuring that her love and support were felt by all. Her legacy of kindness and dedication will continue to inspire those who knew her.
Gail's memory will be cherished by her surviving family and friends, who will forever hold her in their hearts.
