Jenkins, Harold L., Sept. 7, 1927 ~ Dec. 15, 2009, Carleton, MI., formerly of Monroe,. Harold Lee Jenkins was born in Union City, TN. to Ada and Ellis Jenkins. He was a 1946 graduate of Troy High School, Tenn. He married the late Marcella Ashby on February 21, 1947 at St. Johns Lutheran Church Waltz. She preceded him in death January 14, 2007. Harold worked as a supervisor for the Wayne County Roads. He retired July 21, 1978. He enjoyed watching sports and spending time with his family. He was a faithful member of Willow United Methodist Church which he help to build and worked at many chicken suppers. He and Marcella resided in Florida for nineteen years before moving back to Monroe in 1997. Harold Lee Jenkins, age 82, passed away at 4:15 PM at his home surrounded by his loving family. He had been under the care of Affinity Hospice. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Robert. Survivors are Mary Stroud, Cathy (Richard) Suemnick, Linda (Robert) Kemp and Teresa (Charles) Clark, 8 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, his sisters Virginia Cranford, Katherine Hartnup, Mary Nichols, Peggy Adams and many nieces and nephews.
