JOHNSON, Joseph M., age 89, of Taylor, February 08, 2018. Joseph was formerly from southwest Detroit, born in Highland Park, Michigan on November 19, 1928. He is the beloved husband of the late, departed wife Gerda (Sidow). Dear son of the late Morris and Margaret Johnson, proud father of Linda (Charles) Jones, stepfather of Gunter Sr. (Judy) Wolff, of Berlin, Germany. Dear grandfather of Joseph, Christine (Joe), Gunter Jr., Richard, and great-grandpa of Emily, Brayden and Edward. Loving brother of Ruth (the late Rudy), Richard (the late Margaret), Alice (the late Ted), Robert (Louise), Carolyn, Morris (the late Dolly) and Irene. Dear brother-in-law of Inge Gwiazda and the late Edward Gwiazda. Also survived by many cousins, nephews and nieces in the Detroit area and in California. He was a graduate of Western High School in Detroit, a graduate of U of D Mechanical Engineering College, served in the U.S. Army Intelligence during the Korean War. Joseph is a member of the Southgate, MI V.F. W Post 9238. He retired as a Body Design Engineer from Ford Motor Research and Engineering in Dearborn, in 1991.
