Obituary

Thomas Alexander Johnstone, Jr., a cherished member of the Belleville community, passed away peacefully on May 8, 2025, at the age of 75. Born on June 12, 1949, in Ypsilanti, Michigan, Thomas lived a life marked by dedication to his family, work, and passions.

Thomas retired as an inspector for General Motors, where he devoted many years of service. In his leisure time, he found joy in fishing and shared many happy moments bowling with his beloved fiancée, Phyllis Taylor. He was also a valued member of The Huron Senior Center in Waltz, Michigan, where he formed lasting friendships.

Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Bonnie Johnstone, and his brother-in-law, Edward Taylor. He leaves behind a his loving fiancée of over 40 years, Phyllis Taylor; daughter, Jennifer Euchner; son, Tom Harris; grandchildren 5, great grandchildren 1; sisters, Jan (Bob) Patterson and Bonnie (Carl) Haney; sisters-in-law, Sharon (Darryl) Zilka, Theresa Taylor, and Judith (Paul Delmar) Taylor; brothers-in-law, James Taylor and Thomas (Dawn) Taylor. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will miss him dearly.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m., with a rosary at 7:00 p.m., at the Michigan Memorial Funeral Home. A service will take place at St. Aloysius Church on Wednesday, May 14, 2025 with Instate at 10:00 AM and Mass at 11:00 AM. Inurnment will follow at Michigan Memorial Park.

Thomas will be remembered for his warmth, kindness, and the love he shared with all who knew him. His legacy will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
