Obituary

Betty Margaret Vanstone Kelley, was born May 11. 1931, and passed away March 30, 2021, She was the daughter of the late Alphonse and Eliza (Collins) Van Stone. She attended St Mary’s Rockwood Grade School. You went through hard times in your life but you always put one foot in front of the other while providing and being there for our family. As much of a force that she was, she loved even fiercer. We treasured the time we spent with you and the long talks we shared about your life, our life, and life in general. We learned things that we never knew about you and how it molded you into the person you were today. She is preceded in death by two step siblings: Joe Masschelein and Emma Balk; and three brothers: Walter, Henry, and Tony Van Stone and one sister and best friend Madeline (Babe) Reaume. She is survived by her children, Bryce (Butch) (LeeAnn) Kelley, Cheryl Kelley, Colleen (Mike) Root, Timothy (Crystal) Kelley. Her children, grand children Stephie and Chad Scheid, Kelley, Brad, Lindsey, Jeff, Meredith, Mark and great grand children, Aaron, Jacob, Brielle, Ava, Colin, Delaney, Mia, Ella, Joseph, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews meant the world to her and she lit up when everyone was together. Get-togethers’ and special occasions will be different now, but she leaves behind a legacy of strong women that will continue to tell stories of her. Brielle her great granddaughter now carries a pink unicorn (her favorite) in honor of her because she truly was one of a kind.We could never ask to be so blessed to have a family matriarch like you. You have breathed so much life into each and every one of us. Life is not about measured about the number of breaths we take but by the moments that take your breath away- and you were simply breathe taking. You were magical and put life into everything you touched. A woman beyond her destination of life, you inspired all of us to become who we are today. To¬¬¬¬¬ live our lives’ to the fullest, to be happy wherever our life journeys took us, to follow our dreams, and to not be afraid to write our own page in our books of life. You were one in a million, irreplaceable, and we were all privileged to have you in our lives not only as a family member but a best friend! So little sassy pant’s we are looking forward to all the little signs you send each and every one of us from above. Please send kisses and hugs to all of our loved ones in heaven. Heaven gained an angle, but our family lost a matriarch. Until we meet again sweet angel Betty Kelley! We know you and Babe are on the beach relaxing. The Family would life to express our gratitude to Hope at Home3, Beaumont Hospice, the Staff on The third Floor IMC, fourth fl9or Meg Sur for the exceptional care given to her. Her cremation took place at “The Witness Crematory” located inside of Michigan Memorial Funeral Home.
