Carol Ann Kastura passed away peacefully at the age of 82 on May 31, 2025, in Carleton, Michigan. Born on April 14, 1943, in Detroit, Michigan, Carol lived a life filled with love, compassion, and devotion to her family and friends.
Carol dedicated her early years to working as an elevator operator and a teacher's aide at a Montessori school, where her kind nature and gentle spirit touched the lives of many children. Later, she devoted herself wholeheartedly to her role as a homemaker, creating a warm and nurturing environment for her family.
Her love for animals was evident throughout her life, especially in her affection for her cherished dog, Jack. Carol found joy in playing bingo and spent many happy hours tending to her garden and losing herself in the pages of a good book.
Carol was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joe; her daughter, April Macdonald; her parents, William and Mary; and her sister, Jeanne Gregory. She is survived by her son, Joe (Tina) Kastura; her treasured grandchildren, Madelyn, Josie, Jordan (Tony) Wieck, Catie (Joey) Chirco, and Kyle (Brenna) Macdonald; five adored great-grandchildren; her son-in-law, Mike Macdonald; her nieces, Laurie Englehart and Marianne Ford; and her nephew, Richard Englehart.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 5, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Her cremation will take place at "The Witness Crematory," located inside Michigan Memorial Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Michigan Humane Society or the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), honoring Carol’s enduring passion for animal welfare.
Carol will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends forever.
