Carolyn Jane Kolka, a beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend, passed away on April 1, 2026, in Woodhaven, Michigan, at the age of 75. Born on January 24, 1951, in Taylor, Texas, Carolyn's life was marked by her dedication to family and her passion for education.
Throughout her life, Carolyn enriched the lives of countless young minds as a devoted teacher at both Taylor schools and Monroe Jefferson schools. Her gentle spirit and nurturing nature left an indelible mark on students and colleagues alike.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her cherished parents, Marion and Jeanette Flanagan. She leaves behind a loving family, including her devoted husband, James Kolka, her son, James Kolka, and her sisters, Donna (Phil) Westerman, and Nell (Greg) Stokes. Carolyn will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by her family and friends.
Her legacy of compassion and kindness will continue to inspire those who knew her. Carolyn's memory will forever remain in the hearts of those she loved and those who had the privilege of knowing her.
