Charles Koval, better known as “Champ” aged 85, of Grosse Ile, Michigan, passed away on October 25, 2026. Born on December 8, 1940, in Central City, Pennsylvania, Charles led a life marked by dedication, service, and a passion for the Country he cherished.

A proud graduate of Grosse Ile High School, Charles served honorably his country as a veteran of the U.S. Army Special Forces Green Berets. Following his military service, he embarked on a career as a Roadway Checker in the freight industry and later applied his leadership skills as a manager with Lake Erie Metro Parks after retiring as a Teamster. An avid golfer and athlete with a lifelong love of baseball, Charles found joy in both sports and the camaraderie they brought.

Charles was preceded in death by his beloved spouse, Rose Koval, a distinguished realtor with Century 21 Riverpointe of Grosse Ile, Michigan, and his devoted parents, Charles and Jenny.

He is survived by his children Paul Koval, Susan Koval, Jim Camilleri, Robert (Denise) Camilleri, Kenneth (Christina) Camilleri, Mark Camilleri, and John (Nicole) Camilleri; his siblings Jackie Lowler and Betty King; and by his nephew Charles Lowler and nieces Margie Gape and Jenny King.
