Obituary
Debra Ann Koss, born on July 21, 1957, in Detroit, Michigan, passed away on October 2, 2026, in Royal Oak, Michigan, at the age of 69.
Debra was a beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, and sister. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Koss, and her father, Earl Lavack. Her memory will be cherished by her surviving family and friends.
She leaves behind her devoted daughters, Mandy Byrd and her husband John, and Jennifer Cavill. She is also survived by her step-children, Terry Koss and his wife Cindy, Randy Koss and his wife Shannon, Jennifer Jacobs and her husband Lange, Christopher Koss, and Dr. Gerald Koss II and his wife Crystal.
Debra was a proud grandmother to Erik, Sean, Aubrey, Brooklynn, and John Boy, Brandon, Jessica, Samantha, Danielle, Kyle, Jill, Corbin, and JaLynn. She was also blessed with great-grandchildren Brady, Abigail, Foster, Bazz, Dexter, and Lydia. Her mother, Patricia Lavack, survives her, as do her sisters, Mary and her husband Ron, and Earleen and her husband Arnold.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital in Debra's honor. Her family wishes to express their gratitude for the love and support they have received during this difficult time.
