Obituary
Donna Marie Korody, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on June 2, 2026, in New Boston, Michigan, at the age of 79. Born on May 24, 1947, in Wyandotte, Michigan, Donna lived a life full of love, laughter, and dedication to her family.
Donna was a devoted homemaker whose greatest joy was her family. She was a loving and involved mother and grandmother, always present at sporting events, cheering on her children and grandchildren with unwavering enthusiasm. Her cherished "Nana Days" with her grand girls were filled with joy and laughter, creating memories that will be treasured forever.
Donna had a passion for many things, including flowers and gardening, shopping, playing cards and board games, and making crafts. She was a talented sewer and enjoyed watching the game show channel, as well as cheering for her favorite teams, the Detroit Tigers and Detroit Red Wings. Her wit and outspoken nature endeared her to all who knew her.
Her love extended beyond her human family to her cherished cats, whom she affectionately called her "fur babies," and her grand fur babies, both cats and dogs.
Donna is preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy Zambeck, and her brothers, Nick, Tom, Joe, and Mike Zambeck. She is also reunited with her beloved cats, Kitty and Ally.
She is survived by her devoted husband of nearly 60 years, Dan Korody; her daughter Denise (Tony) Anselmi and son Dan (Nikole) Korody; her adored granddaughters, Ella and Kayla Anselmi, and Aubree and Alaina Korody. She also leaves behind her sisters, Carol Showler and Kay (Jack) Roe, her brother, Jim (Theresa) Zambeck, and the new fur baby, Buddy, along with many other family members and friends who will miss her dearly.
A private family visitation to honor Donna's life will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at Michigan Memorial Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Donna's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital by clicking the button to the left.
Donna's warmth, humor, and love will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
