Obituary

George Raymond King, a cherished husband and brother, passed away from pancreatic cancer at the age of 68 on May 27, 2026, in Belleville, Michigan. Born on September 23, 1957, in Wyandotte, Michigan, George lived a life marked by kindness, dedication, and a deep love for both nature and animals.

George recently retired from the oil refinery industry as an instrument mechanic, where he worked many years dedicated to his profession.

George found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He was an avid golfer and took great pride in maintaining his seven-acre property, transforming it into a pristine landscape. Estate sales were another of his interests, where he enjoyed discovering hidden treasures.

A man with a generous heart, George had a profound love for animals. Together with his beloved wife, Corina, he dedicated much of his life to caring for the wildlife that visited their home, including deer, birds, hawks, and numerous cats. Over the past 40 years, they rescued 209 cats, providing them with a loving home and a second chance at life.

George is preceded in death by his parents, James and Betty King, and his brothers, John and Bob King. He is survived by his devoted wife, Corina King; his brothers, Jim and Michael King; his sister, Kathy Wambergue; and many nieces, nephews, family members, and friends who will miss him dearly.

In lieu of flowers, those who wish to honor George's memory are invited to make a donation in his name to PAWS Animal Rescue by clicking the button to the left. George's legacy of compassion and love for animals will continue to inspire all who knew him.

There will be a celebration of life for George toward the end of September 2026.

  • To my wonderful husband, George King. There’s a tear in my heart that will never mend. Caring, sharing, always working, saving for a good retirement, only to have 7 months retirement and got the news you had stage 4 pancreatic cancer. I will never be the same, I’m broken. George didn't want a funeral, instead a Celebration of Life party will be at the end of September by his birthday, I still have to make plans. George was a one-of-a-kind guy, thank you George for giving me a great 38 years, it wasn't long enough. Corina King
  • My deepest condolences to family. George was a great man and I'm thankful to have had the pleasure of working with and learning from you over the years. Rest well Brother. Jeffrey Howell
