Obituary
James Roberson Kennah, born on September 19, 1939, in Wellston, Missouri, passed away on May 29, 2026, in LaGrange, Indiana, at the age of 86.
James was a man of deep faith and commitment to his community. He was an active member of the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP), the Council on Aging, the American Legion, and his local church and Bible study group. His dedication to service extended to his involvement with the Royer Lake and Fish Lake Association, where he cherished the natural beauty of the area.
Throughout his life, James was known for his generosity and compassion. He gave selflessly to countless charities, ensuring that his contributions made a difference in the lives of others. After retiring, James moved to the lake, where he enjoyed fishing, paddle boating, and the relaxed lake lifestyle.
James was preceded in death by the love of his life, wife Diane (Elmira Diane Kennah), children Shelly Young and Jamie, and his mother, Cora Roberson. He leaves behind a loving family who will cherish his memory: his children Cindy (Dennis) Dykes-Woblick, Valerie (Thomas) Zimmerman, and Sandra Kennah; his grandchildren Anna (Jeremy) Sharp, Brittany (Antheny) Phipps, Richard (Penny) Stefanik, Scott (Greer) Dykes, Antonio Brown-Fedrico, Alicia Brown-Fedrico, Kurtrenia Woblick, and Jammie Ryan; his great-grandchildren Jaxson Sharp, Zakkary Sharp, Richard (Boo) Stefanik III, Nikko Stefanik, Evan Phipps, Theo Phipps, Micah Willhite, Graycin Ryan, Shawn Gollinger, Tristian McGuire, Michael Gollinger, Shaun Gollinger, Bentley Brown-Federico, and Paisely Brown-Federico; and his great-great-grandchildren Joshua Acevedo and Paisleigh Willhite.
James will be remembered for his unwavering kindness, his dedication to his family and community, and his enduring spirit. His legacy of love and generosity will continue to inspire all who knew him.
