- My best friend...the maid of honor at my wedding....and me at hers...I will miss her more than words can say. Her bubbly personality, her easy smile, her laughter, the fun loving person. The first time I met Ruthie (a.k.a. Pest) was in the hallway of Henderson Hall at Ferris. She was sitting in the middle of the hallway playing with a slinky. I was trying to get around her and she just started to laugh which got me to laughing in which I called her a "Pest"...a nickname that stuck for over 50 years. RIP my best friend... Judy Tanis
