Obituary

Alan Craig Lindsay, 67, of Flat Rock, Michigan, passed away on January 28, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. He was born on March 7, 1958, in Wyandotte, Michigan, to Kenneth and Doris Lindsay.

Alan grew up in southeastern Michigan and graduated from Trenton High School, Class of 1976. He later attended Ferris State University. During his early years, he developed a lifelong passion for automobiles—an interest that would shape his remarkable career.

For 45 years, Alan proudly worked at Bill Brown Ford in Livonia, Michigan, the number one Ford dealership in the United States. He was honored by Ford Motor Company as a member of the prestigious 500 Club (PSC), a historic and highly exclusive recognition awarded to top-performing salespeople who sell 500 vehicles in a single year. This distinction marked Alan as one of the best in his field, and he wore his PSC ring with pride as a symbol of a career defined by dedication and excellence.

Outside of work, Alan found joy and peace boating on the Great Lakes, a hobby that reflected his love for freedom, adventure, and time well spent.

Alan is survived by his parents Kenneth and Doris Lindsay, brothers, Robert Lindsay and Kenneth A. Lindsay (Lindsey); his nephews, Robert Lindsay Jr. (Jenna), Andrew Lindsay (Krista), Carson Lindsay, and Caroline Lindsay; and his great-nieces and great-nephew, Avery, Myah, Sophia, and Luke.

Alan’s legacy of hard work, integrity, and devotion to family will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

  • So sorry to hear of Al"s passing. He was always glad to see his old high school friends when I came into town and made me feel welcome when I returned for a visit to Trenton. Always a smile and a kind word from him. A class act and a helluva auto salesman! One of the " Class Acts" from the 1976 graduating class. My Condolences to his family - he will be missed by all! • Alan has been a lifetime friend of mine. We attended the same schools from elementary, to junior high and then highschool. During those years, we shared many of the same teachers. Alan and I were also neighbors, growing up on the same street and playing like kids did in our generation. To say I know Alan is an understatement. Alan is family to me. As much as it hurts knowing Alan has passed, I get gratitude knowing Alan is no longer in pain and is happily at home with our Heavenly Father. Alan, I thank you for all the years of laughs. I thank you for your wisdom you shared routinely with me and with tears in my eyes, thank you for the opportunity to call you friend. God Bless you brother DARRELL LITTLE

  • I’m sorry to hear about the loss of Al Lindsay. Al was one of the key players that made the Bill Brown Ford team successful year after year. His loyalty and dedication to his customers, colleagues, family, and friends was second to none. My condolences go out to his family and all who knew him best. On a personal note, he took a young kid fresh out of high school, and he taught me the car business, he taught me how to get through life, and he taught me how to make lemonade when life was throwing me lemons. I’ll be forever grateful for his time, kindness, generosity, guidance, and most of all his friendship. Al… Thank you for the memories, the many belly laughs (mostly at Bill’s expense), and the many talks we had--those meant more than you will ever know. You are a master of your craft, and you will be missed. Till we meet again, my friend. Richard Palaikis
  • Al sold me many cars throughout the last 30 years. He became a good friend. I will miss him always. Rest in peace Al. Joann Rodwell
