Obituary

LAURA, Alger Edmund , age 81, passed away September 18, 2017 at his home in New Boston. In addition to Betty Ann, his beloved wife of 64 years, Edmund “Ed” was the devoted father of Suzanne Cline, Kevin (Toni) Laura, Dr. Bryan (Gloria) Laura, Marylyn (Joe) Pellegrini, David (Debra) Laura and Gary (Lisa) Laura. Dear grandfather of 14 and great-grandfather of 8. He is also survived by his brother Gary (Mary Ann) Laura. He is preceded in death by his parents Ed and Joanne Laura. Early in life Ed worked in the X-Ray department at Riverside Hospital in Trenton, MI. He later sold medical supplies before starting his own specialty chemical business in 1965. He remained CEO of A-Line Products Corporation for 40+ years before retiring in 2006. During his career he is credited with several patents in the development of protective and functional coatings. Ed was an avid reader, often reading several books each week. He had a special love for wildlife and cared for his many pets. While raising his family he enjoyed the many family vacations and fishing trips in the Florida Keys. To many Ed will best be remember for his sense of humor. He was always witty and quick with a joke. His family will always remember him as a proud and dedicated husband, father and grandfather. Ed will be deeply missed and never forgotten by his family and friends.
