Obituary

Lawson, Bobby D., age 76, of Detroit, March 20, 2017. Beloved husband of Mary Lou Lawson. Loving father of Charlene (Faye Edward) Lawson, Belinda (Michael) Kraatz and Theresa (Willie) Watson. Dearest grandfather of Sean (Amanda) Lawson, Patrick Kraatz, Latitia Gillespie, Stephanie (Joey) Sowa, Nicholas Lawson and Bobby B. Lawson. Great Grandfather of Tyler Kraatz, Makayla Kraatz, Seth Lawson, Colton Sowa and Dalton Gillespie. He is also survived by his brother Arnold Lawson. He is preceded in death by his parents Robert and Myrtie Lawson. He was the 15th child born to Robert and Myrtie Lawson and was preceded in death by 16 brothers and sisters.

Please accept my sincere condolences. I remember with fondness growing up at 2129 Military with the Lawsons just 2 doors down. Bob Lawson was always present in the neighborhood and ready to help out in any way. He was always ready for a friendly conversation. He and my dad always chatted about every subject you could think of. Later when I would come home to Detroit from anywhere I was assigned in Brazil and in the Midwest, I would run into him at Holy Redeemer in Detroit when he worked there. Mr. Lawson has long been associated with the Foley / Kraatz clan. He was a very good neighbor to our Grandparents, John & Lillian Foley, who lived across the street on good old Military.
