Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Charles Ellsworth Lorenz, lovingly known as "Fuzzy," who left this world on June 29, 2024. Born on April 9, 1946, in Detroit, Michigan, Fuzzy lived a remarkable life filled with passion and dedication to his family and the great outdoors.
Charles spent many fulfilling years working at the Ford Motor Company before retiring to pursue his true interests. A proud member of the Washtenaw County Sportsman's Club, he found joy in activities such as fishing, hunting, camping, and trapping – always happiest when surrounded by nature.
In his journey through life, Charles touched the hearts of many. He survived his beloved wife Norma, children Christopher (Julie) Lorenz, Kelly Lorenz, Catherine Zupancic, and April (Greg) Fountain. He was a cherished grandfather to Brianna (Brandon Slaughter) Villareal, Garrett Cobb, Melissa Bissell, and Jacquelynn Short, and a beloved great-grandfather to Alonzo Slaughter, Santez Slaughter, and Savannah Bissell. Charles is also survived by his sister, Patricia McNear and nephews Jerry, Jeffrey and Patrick Shelton.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Ruth Lorenz, whose love and guidance shaped him into the remarkable man he became.
As we reflect on Charle’s life, let us remember his kindness, his adventurous spirit, and his unwavering love for his family. Though he may be physically gone, his memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Rest in peace, dear Fuzzy. Your legacy of love and laughter will continue to inspire us all.
His cremation will take place at “The Witness Crematory” located inside of Michigan Memorial Funeral Home.
