Obituary
Dale Ellis Labadie passed away on August 22, 2026, in Battle Creek, Michigan, at the age of 84. Born on September 24, 1941, in Delray, Michigan, Dale lived a life rich in love, service, and passion.
Dale spent his professional career as an electrician with Ford Motor Co., where he dedicated 32 years of service. Alongside his work at Ford, he proudly served in the United States Navy for 29 years, exemplifying a deep commitment to his country through both active duty and reserve service.
A man of many interests, Dale had a profound love for music, particularly from the 50s and 60s, with a special fondness for Roy Orbison. He enjoyed dancing and was known for his romantic spirit. An avid outdoorsman, Dale found joy in hunting with bow and arrow and had a keen interest in archery. His passion for cars was evident in his enthusiasm for attending car shows.
Dale's unwavering faith was a guiding force in his life. As a Christian, he found strength in his beliefs, which he shared with those around him. His family and friends were the cornerstone of his life, and he was revered as an outstanding husband, loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great grandfather.
Preceded in death by his parents, Philip and Pearl; sons, Dale and Ryan; siblings, Ross, Lynn, Mark, and Brenda; and sister-in-law, Diana, Dale leaves behind a legacy of love and dedication.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Sandra Labadie; children, Lori (Bruce) Evans, Michelle Hounshell, and Brenda Campbell, grandchildren, Keith, Johnathan, James (Sarah), Henry, Thomas, Chloe (Jonathan), and McKenna (Clayton). His great-grandchildren include Charlotte, Blake, Silas, Adalia, Magnus, Sabrina, and Audrey, along with his great-great-grandson, Isaiah. Dale is also survived by his siblings, Philip (Mary Ann), Keith (Elaine), Gary, Bruce (Cindy), Ruth Ann (the late Art), Mary Ellen (George), and Claire (Bill), as well as his sister-in-law, Diane. He will be dearly missed by his close friends Dave & Debbie Sourbeck, Casey and Dolores, Julie and Arnie Braun, Harold and Dorothy Goodman, Fritz and Betty Olson, Dave & Sue McWhorter, Janet Wagner, and many others who held a special place in his heart.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during the visitation on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Michigan Memorial Funeral Home. A service celebrating Dale's life will be held on Thursday, August 27, 2026, at 11:00 AM, officiated by Pastor Dave McWhorter. Following the service, a Veteran Honor Guard ceremony will take place at Michigan Memorial Park, with interment to follow.
