LAREW, Daniel G., age 74, passed away peacefully at his home Thursday, December 23, 2021, after a long and brave battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis. Daniel was born in Detroit, Michigan on November 12, 1947 to John Edward LaRew and Rita Raniszewski. A hard-worker and natural behind the wheel, Daniel had a successful career as a car hauler working for both Nu-Car Carriers and E&L Transport. He was passionate about working with his hands and used his talent to craft and restore beautiful hardwood furniture, which he sold at local craft shows and antique malls, well into his retirement. When he wasn’t busy working in his garage, he spent time watching his beloved Detroit Tigers. A few of the family’s favorite memories include attending Tigers’ games together in both Detroit and Lakeland, Florida. Daniel is survived by his wife of 53 years, Christina, his daughter Lisa, his sister Sandra Carone-Chipps, his brother Jack LaRew (Billie), four nephews, two nieces, and nine great nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Detroit Bulldog Rescue or Almost Home Animal Rescue.
