Obituary

David Archibald Lee, aged 89, passed away on June 15, 2026, in Grosse Ile, Michigan. He was born on November 24, 1936, in Ecorse, Michigan, to the late Archibald and Regina Lee.

David dedicated his professional life to working as a Chemistry Lab Technician in the steel mill industry, where he spent many years contributing to the field with dedication and expertise.

Outside of his work, David was an avid runner and a proud member of the Motor City Striders. His passion for distance running earned him many medals over the years. David also enjoyed biking and rowing, activities that kept him active and engaged throughout his life.

In his retirement years, David found great joy in traveling with his beloved wife of 67 years, Nancy Lee. Together, they explored destinations both within the United States and abroad, creating cherished memories along the way.

David had a creative side as well, taking pleasure in crafting stained glass pieces, particularly Tiffany-style lamps, which brought beauty and light to his world and those around him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Archibald and Regina Lee, and his brother-in-law, Jimmy Harrison.

David is survived by his devoted spouse, Nancy, and their children: David (Heidi) Lee, Karen (Paul) Julian, Richard (Peter) Lee, and Rebecca (Randall) Pek. He also leaves behind eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, who will carry forward his legacy and love.

Additionally, David is survived by his siblings Tom (Dianne) Lee, Paul (Linda) Lee, and Nancy Harrison, all of whom shared in his life's journey.

David will be remembered for his love of life, adventurous spirit, and the deep bonds he formed with family and friends. May he rest in peace.

Condolences

  • A fun memory. Dane and I were at a gathering of family and friends at Rick and John's home. As a group of us were chatting, Karen "disclosed" that she and her siblings would "toss" Dave and Nancy's bedroom looking for... what teenagers look for. With a small smile and a sparkle in his eyes, Dave replied, "Yeah, that's how I educated you." Dane & Cynthia Barrager
