George Anthony Leitner, aged 95, passed away peacefully in Westland on May 28, 2025. Born on July 7, 1929, in Wyandotte, he lived a long and full life characterized by a deep love for family and music.
George was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Maureen Gail Lynn, with whom he shared many cherished years. He was the beloved son of Leonard and Ethel Leitner and brother to his late siblings Frank, Donnie, Lil, Emma, and Buddy.
He leaves behind a loving family who will deeply miss him: his son Aaron Lynn and step-daughter Peggy Kish. George was a proud grandfather to Emily Gail Lynn and Zoey Elizabeth Lynn (Jacob Jackson). His legacy continues through his great-grandchildren John, Scarlet, and Xavier.
George had a passion for working on cars, finding solace and satisfaction in the hum of a well-tuned engine. Music was another of his great loves, and he was talented in playing the piano, accordion, harmonica, and guitar. These interests brought him joy and comfort throughout his life.
