Luczak, Gerald – “Jerry”, 78 years old, from Detroit, Michigan, passed away in his home March 8, 2022 surrounded by his family in New Boston, MI. He was born January 2, 1944 and preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Jane (Kucharczyk) Luczak. Jerry served in the Navy for 6 years, stationed at Pearl Harbor. Upon discharge, he joined the Detroit Fire Department. Here he found his true calling, he received several commendations from the city of Detroit for valor. He also worked as a contractor, while raising his family. He was preceded in death by his wife Judy (Kisabeth). He is survived by siblings Randy (Marlene) Luczak, Karen Kreyger, Donald Luczak. Father to daughters Amy (Jason Hall) Luczak, Trudi Pheeney, Andrea Luczak, Tricia Picklesimer and Allison Luczak. Grandfather to Alexis and Hannah Pheeney, Luke and Chloe Picklesimer, Chelsea and Victoria Luczak. The family has asked in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.

It was my privilege to know Jerry. He served as an usher at Brightmoor Christian Church in Novi, Michigan. He went on at least 8 missions trips with various Brightmoor teams helping build churches in South America. I will miss my friend. Michael D. Ketchum
