Obituary
Harry Wilson Loughran, born on July 23, 1948, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, passed away on November 23, 2024, in Detroit, Michigan, at the age of 76. A man of great charm and warmth, Harry was dearly loved and will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.
Harry was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Regina Parker-Loughran, with whom he shared 12 wonderful years of marriage. Their love story began with a simple question about a motorcycle ride, leading to countless adventures and cherished memories together. Harry's passion for Harley motorcycles and the trips he meticulously planned with Regina to places like Key West and the Dragon's Tail are stories that will continue to be recounted by those who enjoyed hearing of their journeys. Despite the frequent rain on their Harley excursions, Harry's spirit remained undampened.
A gifted storyteller with a sharp sense of humor, Harry's ability to bring laughter and joy to any gathering was unparalleled. His love for his family was evident in every aspect of his life, especially in the time he spent teaching archery to his children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. His prowess in archery was highlighted when he broke the Guinness World Record on August 11-12, 1978, for the Highest 24 Hour Score by a Pair of Archers.
Harry was also an avid hunter and the biggest Green Bay Packers fan, traits admired by all who knew him. Whether around a campfire or at a game, his enthusiasm was contagious. Known for letting his playful side shine through when any water-related activity was involved, Harry's antics brought delight to many.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Gladys Loughran, and his sisters, Sherry and Paula. He leaves behind a loving family, including his children: Lisa (Steve) Loughran-Sherman, Harry T. (Nancy) Loughran, Sean Patrick Joseph (Emily) Loughran, Christopher (Katie) Capobianco, and Brandon (Celeste) Capobianco. His grandchildren, Jacob, Josh, Kaitlyn, Joseph, Ashley, Haley, Alexis, Rylee, Catrina, Hannah, Noah, Braylon, Parker, and Teagan, will carry forward his legacy of love and laughter.
Harry is also survived by his sister, Margie (Don) Cochran, his cherished furbaby Phoebe, and his best friend, Joe Parker, who will all miss him dearly.
In this time of sorrow, we remember Harry as a remarkable man whose life was filled with love, laughter, and adventure. His stories, humor, and passion for life will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
