Obituary

Jerry Bond Leasure, born on December 16, 1964, in Urbana, Ohio, passed away peacefully on November 10, 2024, in Romulus, Michigan. At the age of 59, Jerry was a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, known for his warm heart and deep love for his family and his cherished pugs.

Jerry's life was a tapestry woven with threads of love and laughter. He found immense joy in raising pugs, whose companionship brought him enduring happiness. His affection extended deeply towards his family, especially his many nieces and nephews who held a special place in his heart.

Preceded in death by his father Ralph Leasure, step-father Bruce McCulla, and niece Kaitlan Miller, Jerry leaves behind a loving family who will fondly remember his gentle spirit and unwavering kindness. He is survived by his devoted mother Norma McCulla, and his siblings Rhonda (Keith) White, Katie (Michael) Miller, and Laura (Tony) Eckstein. Jerry is also survived by his step-siblings Jeffrey (Leta) McCulla, Jonathon (Cindy) McCulla, and Joel (Jill) McCulla.

The legacy of Jerry's love continues through his nieces and nephews: Luke White, Ben Eckstein, Christian Skye Miller, Hannah Pfarr, Lydia Greaves, Maggie Byers, Emily Turner, Olivia Richards, Grant Rogers, Beau Rogers and Jude Kirk. Each of them will carry forward his memory, cherishing the moments shared and the lessons imparted by their dear uncle.

In honor of Jerry's love for pugs, donations may be made to a Michigan Pug Rescue “Pug Luv” in lieu of flowers. Jerry's gentle soul and loving nature will be dearly missed, but his memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

  • I am so saddened to hear the news about Jerry. I have been truly fortunate to work with him through his role at Printwell. He has been one of the nicest, warmest, most positive people that I’ve worked with. Even by email, he always found a way to make my day better. It felt like he was someone I had known forever. His warmth came through in every communication. I can’t imagine working on our annual project without him this year. He was truly one of a kind and he will be GREATLY missed. Janice Benson
  • Through my late teens and early 20’s Jerry was a huge piece of my life He stayed in my life even when I left MI and joined the military When ever I came home I would stop by and see him. He was such a light in this otherwise dreadful world. He also had a hug and laugh that just made you feel good and cared about. A lot of people will talk about his kindness and love of pugs, but he was also so intelligent. I always enjoyed our deep conversations after I came home from the bar. When I was a young woman doubting everything about myself. Jerry made me feel smart and beautiful and that I could do anything in life. We shared a passion for singing. I remember the days before pugs there were ferrets who used to steal all my stuff. Jerry thought is was hilarious 😆 He had such a love for all animals not just pugs. I so sad that he has passed and He will be so missed! Heaven gained an angel Rosado Heather
