Julius Gustave LaRoy, age 91, passed away peacefully on July 8, 2025, in Covington, Georgia.
A devoted husband for 64 years to the late Veronica Eleanor LaRoy, Julius was a beloved father to Sharon (Jeff) Walby, Darryl (Karen) LaRoy, Donna (Bob) Lewis, Gregory (Diane) LaRoy, Steven (Marika) LaRoy, and Vivian (Joe) Knoerle. He was a cherished grandfather to eleven grandchildren: Audrey, David, Amanda, Victoria, Abigail, Bob, Anthony, Jillian, Jacob, Mary Ellen, and Grace. He was also the proud great-grandfather to nine: Nolan, Alex, Maya, Jaxson, Dominic, George, Ellie, Trey, and Lucas.
Born on March 8, 1934, Julius graduated from Monroe Catholic Central High School in 1952. He served his country in the U.S. Army before attending the University of Detroit. His professional career spanned 25 years at IBM, from 1962 until his retirement in 1987.
Julius was a longtime member of St. Stephen Catholic Church and lived a life rooted in faith, family, charity, and hard work. Together with Veronica, he is fondly remembered for their family farm and Pumpkin Patch on Sibley Road in New Boston, a place that brought joy to many throughout the years and where he lived from 1965 to 2024.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Veronica; his sister, Marian Baker; and his parents, Nettie Lagowska Axford and Cyriel LaRoy.
May Julius now rest in eternal peace alongside his loved ones who have gone before him. His memory will continue to bless all who knew him.
