Karen Marie Lutheran, born on April 1, 1944, in Detroit, Michigan, passed away on August 8, 2025, in Taylor, Michigan, at the age of 81. Her life was a testament to love, devotion, and selflessness, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew her.
Karen dedicated her life to being a homemaker, where she found joy and fulfillment in nurturing her family and creating a warm and loving home. Her heart was a wellspring of generosity, always putting the needs of others before her own. Love was the centerpiece of her heart, and her family was her world.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Margaret Sarnowski, her brother, Clarence Sarnowski, Jr., and her sister, Kathy Malega. Karen is survived by her beloved husband of 60 beautiful years, Joe Lutheran, who was her steadfast partner and greatest love. Together, they built a family that was the pride and joy of her life.
Karen leaves behind three children: Amie (Joe) Scott, Todd (Jennifer) Lutheran, and Beth Lutheran, who carry forward her legacy of love and kindness. She was a cherished grandmother to five grandchildren: Megan (Jacob) Gleason, Nick Scott, Jacqueline Scott, Alex Lutheran, and Gabe Lutheran, each of whom brought immense joy to her life.
Her family and friends will gather to celebrate her life and bid farewell during visitation on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, from 2:00 to 8:00 PM at Michigan Memorial Funeral Home. A service honoring her memory will be held on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at 11:00 AM, with entombment to follow at Michigan Memorial Park.
Karen's life was a beacon of love and compassion, and her spirit will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of her loved ones.
