Obituary

LEWIS, Leo E., age 89, of Southgate, passed away December 09, 2017. He was born October 12, 1928, the son of James and Estelle Lewis. Leo served in the Air Force during World War II and was a recipient of the WWII Victory Medal. He was a longtime business owner in Wyandotte, MI. of Leo Lewis Mobil. Leo was preceded in death by his parents James and Estelle Lewis, his children Otto, Terence, Diana and Sheryl Lewis, his brothers Asbury Lewis, Charles Lewis and his sisters Eleda Griffin, Helen Thomas, Oretha McBeth, and Stella Bryant. He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years Thelma E. Lewis, his children Leon (Ileana) Lewis, Diane Lewis, Mary (Gifford Rash) Lewis, Paul Lewis, his brother Edward J. Lewis, his grandchildren Crystal, Grace, Byron, Ashley and Lauren; his great grandchildren Briana, Olivia, Nicholas, Walter and Fabian, many nieces and nephews, extended family and friends. “The greatest legacy one can pass on to one’s children and grandchildren is not money or other material things accumulated in one’s life, but rather a legacy of character and faith” – Billy Graham.
