Obituary

LAROY, Veronica E, age 84, of Huron Twp, January 18, 2022. Beloved wife of Julius Gustave LaRoy for 64 years. Loving mother of Sharon (Jeff) Walby, Darryl (Karen) LaRoy, Donna (Bob) Lewis, Gregory (Diane) LaRoy, Steven (Marika) LaRoy, and Vivian (Joe) Knoerle. Cherished grandmother of 11 grandchildren Audrey, David, Amanda, Victoria, Abigail, Bobby, Anthony, Jillian, Jacob, Mary Ellen and Grace and 5 great-grandchildren Nolan, Alex, Maya, Jaxson and Dominic. She is preceded in death by her brothers Louis (Jeanette), Al (Rosie), John (Glo), her sister Dorothy (Frank), and her parents John and Helen Sanok. Veronica graduated from New Boston Huron High School and was a longtime member of St. Stephen Catholic Church. Veronica and Julius are fondly remembered for their family farm and Pumpkin Patch on Sibley Rd in New Boston.

My Aunt Vivi was a hardworking and kind soul. Always quick to offer a cup of coffee and a sweet treat and sit down for a talk. So many memories of Sunday Sanok parties on Huron River Drive, Pennsylvania Road and at the Laroy homestead on Sibley. Picnics, tractor wagon rides, good food and lots of games and laughs. I guess you all knew this was coming, but still, it's a hard thing to let someone go. As one of Sharon's friends from Huron, Veronica will always be Mrs. LaRoy to me. On visits to the house, she taught me a thing or two about growing things and not expecting outcomes. She demonstrated the faith it takes to get by. I always thought she had the most beautiful eyes.
