Obituary

Vicki Lynn Lochner, born on March 21, 1950, in Detroit, Michigan, passed away on September 17, 2024, in Dearborn, Michigan, at the age of 74.

Vicki dedicated over 30 years of her life to nurturing young minds as a Montessori Teacher, guiding 1st, 2nd, and 3rd graders with patience and care. Her passion for education and her warm spirit left a lasting impact on countless students.

A devout Christian, Vicki was an active member of Daily Church in Woodhaven, Michigan, where her faith was a cornerstone of her life. She found great joy in worship and fellowship with her church community.

Vicki cherished the time spent traveling across the country, often retreating to the family’s vacation home in Cadillac, Michigan. She deeply valued her moments with her beloved husband, Kenneth, her son, John, and his wife, Lindsay, and her treasured grandchildren, Rylee and Lukas. Her love for family and her dedication to creating lasting memories defined her life.

Vicki is preceded in death by her devoted parents, William and Ruth Lett. She leaves behind her loving husband, Kenneth; her son, John, and his wife, Lindsay; her granddaughter, Rylee; and her grandson, Lukas. She is also survived by her siblings, Kathy (Robert) Hennessey, William (Gwen) Lett, and Robert (Elizabeth) Lett, as well as several nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 22, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with a service at 6:00 PM, to celebrate Vicki’s life and legacy. Entombment to take place in Michigan Memorial Park.

Vicki’s memory will forever remain in our hearts, and she will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

There will be a Celebration of Life Luncheon on Monday at 1:00 PM at Salute Special Events in Flat Rock.  26123 Huron River Drive, Flat Rock, MI 48134.

Condolences

  • I'm so sorry for your loss. You are all in my thoughts and prayers today. She was always so kind and gracious. I will miss her. Love, Marsha Ken, John, Lindsay, Rylee and Lucas
  • I worked as Vicki's assistant for several years at Creative Montessori Center and later as a colleague in my own classroom at Creative Montessori Academy for many more years. I will forever treasure our time together as she mentored me in the Montessori method of educating children, She still referred to our former students from the early 1990's as "our kids". Her faith in the Lord was also an inspiration and she will be missed by many. Such a wonderful legacy! Well done, my friend. Rest in peace. Diane Marzec
  • Truly a most precious soul now rest in the arms of her maker ! Rest in peace my friend , you will always be remembered and loved! Leonard Carone
  • I am so sorry to hear about Vicki's passing. Although it was expected it is still very upsetting to lose a good friend and next door neighbor of many many years. She is in a better place right now. May our Lord place her among His Angels and may Vicki's memory be eternal. My late wife Tina and Vicki shared many moments drinking tea and eating Greek cookies. Vicki always reminded us to bring her favorite cookies every time we visited Greece. Every time I saw I greeted her with "hello beautiful" and she would acknowledge me with her warm, pleasant and characteristic smile. Yes, she was beautiful inside and outside. She was kind, friendly, considerate and honest. Vicki was a fighter, had deeply rooted Faith to our Lord and extremely devoted to her family. We had many discussions on Religion and History. She was so eager to learn about other people's beliefs. She was an Angel on earth. She suffered a lot of pain but now she is receiving her due from our Lord. Not too long ago I asked to read Paul's epistle to the Romans chapter 8. She did with great satisfaction. In there Paul wrote that nothing, even death, can ever separate us from God's Love that He had shown to us in Jesus Christ our Savior. Now Vicki is surrounded by God's Love and will live with Him forever in Paradise. She will be missed. So long my good friend until we meet again. Love Nick Tapazoglou Nick Tapazoglou
  • Vicki was a wonderful person and will be missed by all who knew her. We extend our deepest sympathy to family and friends. Brenda and Roger Vicki Lynn Lochner
