Obituary

Allan "Al" Kennedy MacDonald, born on June 18, 1935 in Detroit, Michigan, peacefully passed away on September 17, 2024 in Taylor, Michigan at the age of 89.

Al was a man deeply rooted in his Scottish heritage and took great pride in the legacy left by his parents, Duncan and Agnes MacDonald, who hailed from Scotland. He was married to the love of his life, Barbara, for 24 wonderful years, sharing countless cherished memories together. Al had a passion for golf and was known for his caring, loving nature and his extraordinary sense of humor. A good guy to all who knew him, everyone liked Al.

A huge fan of Pepsi and an enthusiastic eater, Al enjoyed traveling and indulging in old war movies and westerns. His love for history was only matched by his enthusiasm for sports, particularly hockey and football, with a special place in his heart for the Detroit Red Wings. Al also found pleasure in watching wrestling, immersing himself in the excitement it brought.

He is lovingly remembered by his surviving family: step-children Mark (Carol) Nash, Kevin (Tamara) Nash, Kimberly (Geana) Nash, and Jill McCoy; grandchildren Austin, Erin, Joseph, Jennifer, Steven, Michael, Angel, Christine, and Shaun; great-grandchildren Olivia, Hudson, Sebastian, Parker, and Eli; and his dear sister Sheena MacDonald.

Al is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Duncan and Agnes MacDonald, step-son Mark McCoy, and grandchildren Tristen Nash and Heather McCoy.

His memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. Rest in peace, Al.

Condolences
