Obituary

Barbara Ann Moore, born on January 28, 1943, in Highland Park, Michigan, peacefully passed away on July 22, 2024, in Trenton, Michigan, at the age of 81.

Barbara was a woman of many passions and joys in life. She absolutely loved crocheting, creating countless beautiful pieces that will be treasured by family and friends for years to come. Music was another constant in her life, bringing her comfort and joy. Above all, she cherished spending time with her children and grandchildren, who were her pride and joy.

Barbara is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Derwood; her parents, Orville and Margaret; her sister, Earla “Dolly” Simler; and her brothers, Ronald Reasey, Richard Reasey, and David Reasey.

She leaves behind a loving family who will miss her dearly: her son, Richard Moore; her daughters, Sherrie (the late Mitchel) Manns and Denise (the late James Downs) Johnson; her treasured grandchildren, Alexandra, Blake, Brenden, Jesse, and Jarrett; great-grandaughter Mariah, her brother, Cletus "Budd" Reasey; and several nieces and nephews.

Barbara will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her. Barbara's cremation will take place at "The Witness Crematory," located inside Michigan Memorial Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Elara Hospice.

Condolences

  • I have very few childhood memories that do not include Aunt Barb, Uncle Buck, and you, Sherrie, Richard, and Denise. I am forever grateful to have shared so many cherished memories together. Aunt Barb was special and talented in so many ways. She was beautiful, gracious, beyond generous, gifted with two knitting needles in her hands, of course, and she made THE BEST mac and chees and sloppy joes ever! I often talk about the same with Sandy and Lori when living down memory lane. Sending all our love, and hugs of comfort as you celebrate Aunt Barb and lay her in eternal peace next to her love, Uncle Buck. We love you all! Prayers for strength and healing. 💜🙏✝️ Jeannie (Moore), Michael and Brett Ingram
