Obituary
Byrne Lee Moy, born on July 11, 1951, in Detroit, Michigan, passed away peacefully on August 30, 2024, in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, at the age of 73.
A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Byrne dedicated 37 years of his life to Chrysler, where he built a career marked by hard work and unwavering loyalty. Outside of work, Byrne was deeply involved in his community and participated in numerous organizations, always ready to lend a helping hand or donate to charitable causes.
Byrne was a man of many passions. His passion for camping led him to spend countless joyful weekends with the Cuyahoga Falls Camping Club, creating cherished memories in the great outdoors. He found joy singing with the Patterson Park Singing Seniors and loved playing Euchre at the local community center. An avid coin collector, bowler and enthusiastic fisherman, Byrne also enjoyed the thrill of visiting casinos to play blackjack and poker. His greatest treasures, however, were his grandchildren, with whom he shared countless hours playing cards and fishing. Byrne found immense joy in cheering on his grandchildren at their sporting events, a testament to his supportive and loving nature.
Married to his beloved wife Kathy for 53 wonderful years, Byrne was known for his playful spirit, often dancing goofily at weddings and indulging his sweet tooth with delight. He took pride in being one of the original coupon clippers, always finding joy in the simple pleasures of life.
Byrne is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Catherine Moy; his siblings, John Schoenrock, Beverly Runion, Donna Scott, and Jack Haisch; and the Leija family, who meant so much to him.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Kathy Moy; his children, Byrne "Jim" (Christine) Moy, Wendy (Robert) Damiani, Maggie Moy, and Marci Ramon; his cherished grandchildren, Meghan, Scott, Jimmy, Brendan, Braden, Emma, Ryan, and Olivia; his loving siblings, Linda Moy, Frank Haisch and Wesley “Flat Top” Lansley. Byrne's loyal furbaby, Caesar, also will miss him dearly.
Byrne Lee Moy will be remembered for his generous heart, infectious laughter, and the love he shared with his family and friends. His legacy of kindness and joy will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Moy Family in which they will donate to local Heart and Lung charities.
