Obituary
Carolyn Sue Magyar, age 77, of Carleton, Michigan, passed away peacefully on November 8, 2024. Born in Detroit, Michigan, on September 16, 1947, she was the cherished daughter of the late Charles and Betty Head.
Carolyn was a devoted homemaker who filled her home with warmth and love. Known as the best baker in town, her Christmas celebrations were renowned for the room she filled with cookies, bringing joy to family and friends alike. Carolyn's kitchen was always bustling with the aroma of home-cooked meals, and she took immense pride in providing for her loved ones.
She found great joy in spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, sharing her love through delightful stories and delicious treats. Carolyn also enjoyed taking leisurely drives, playing Pinochle, and engaging in spirited card games with friends and family. She was an avid bowler and could often be found crafting beautiful quilts, crocheting intricate pieces, and decorating stunning cakes. Known fondly as the neighborhood mom, Carolyn’s caring nature touched everyone around her.
Preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Betty Head, and her brother, Douglas Head, Carolyn leaves behind a loving family to cherish her memory. She is survived by her devoted spouse, William Magyar; her beloved daughters, Terri (Todd) Lekity and Karen (Geary) Ramey; grandchildren, Sarah (Chad) Case, Hailee (Nicholas) Glaze, Shelbie (Anthony) Frison, Matthew (Elizabeth Spisak) Lekity, and Dillan (Carlie Stump) Ramey; and great-grandchildren, Quinn Frison, Christopher Case, Cooper Case, and Corinna Ramey. Carolyn is also survived by her brother, Thomas (Mary Ann) Head, her sister-in-law, Betsy Head, and several cherished nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during visitation on Friday, November 15, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and on Saturday, November 16, 2024, with her funeral service beginning at 11:00 AM. Entombment will follow at Michigan Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association in memory of Carolyn's compassionate spirit and enduring legacy of love.
