Obituary

Cheryl Marie Moore (Potts) passed away on December 11, 2020 after a long and courageous battle with brain cancer. Despite her challenges, she always did her best to stay positive and be kind to everyone. She lived by the mantra, “It’s a good day to have a good day.” Cheryl took great joy in her work as a parapro, helping special needs children at Milan High School. She also enjoyed exercising, making many wonderful friends at school and the gym. She loved to travel, including many memorable trips with her loving husband Tony, her cherished nephew Alex, and her darling nieces Morgan and McKenna. Some of her favorite destinations were Ireland, Disney World, and Fort Morgan Alabama. Cheryl spent many happy days working in her garden with her beloved yellow lab Daisy by her side, supervising and stealing strawberries. Cheryl will be reunited with Daisy after two long years apart. Cheryl is survived by her husband Tony Moore; parents Danny and Bonnie Potts; brother Bryan Potts and sister in law Becca Potts; sister Kim Barrett and brother in law Steve Barrett; Nephews Alex Potts, Dominic Barrett, and Kyle Barrett; Nieces Morgan and McKenna Potts; loving extended family and close friends, including her Godchildren Kylie Papler and Alec Murrell.

Condolences

  • Words can not express how sorry I am. Cheryl was more than a coworker or a Para she was my friend. She brought peace to my heart when she worked with Sammy at school because I knew that I could count on her to keep Sammy safe no matter what. As the parent of a special needs child that is a godsend. I will miss her laugh and her friendship. My prayers are with her family and I pray you find peace knowing that she is with God and Daisy now. Tina Garcia
  • Cheryl was a bright spot in any day you got to interact with her. She was smart, funny, sassy, and so kind. She took pride in her work with students and cared for their well-being deeply. It was an honor to know her and laugh with her. I know Daisy was waiting for her in whatever comes next. Rest In Peace, you will not be forgotten here. Much love to the family you left behind, may they find peace in beautiful memories of you. Melissa Fiederlein
