Obituary

Daniel Mayher Jr., age 52, of Allen Park, passed away Friday, June 29, 2018. He was born on June 1, 1966 in Colorado before moving to Michigan shortly after. He lived in Romulus but spent the majority of his childhood in Allen Park. He skipped a grade and graduated from Allen Park High School in 1983.He became a father in 1995 and again in 1997 to two daughters. He enjoyed watching The Detroit Red Wings with them, taking them to Six Flags, Cedar Point, Seaworld, and the U.P., and making sure they always had a wonderful Christmas. He met his life partner and best friend in 2007 and they have been making memories ever since. They enjoyed traveling and going to Allen Park and Saline high school football games, Red Wings, Tigers and Lions games, and many concerts. He was the Detroit Red Wings no. 1 fan and loved watching the Lions and Tigers during hockey's off-season. When watching games at home, he was known to cheer the team on through the television and always got the crowd going when at the games. Dan leaves behind his beloved partner, Michelle Wagensomer; two daughters, Meghan (Aaron) Nelson and Lindsey Koglin; his mother, Karen Mayher; sister, Shelly and Rob Sheets; and many nieces and nephews. He will also be dearly missed by his first grandson, who he was excited to meet in November. He was just like a son-in-law to Michelle's parents, Richard and Marcia Harris, who will miss him deeply; along with Michelle's brother Scott (Julie) Harris, nephews Jason and Jordan, niece Stefanie, and many close friends.Dan will especially be missed for his sense of humor and ability to lighten any room as well as his loving and caring personality. Dan and Michelle (Shelly) spent their last vacation enjoying each other's company in Gulf Shores, Alabama.

Condolences

  • My prayers and condolences go out to Dan’s entire family. I knew Dan from working with him at County Seat many many years ago. We had great times, mostly going out with friends and of course working together. He made work fun and was a blast to hang out with. I trust he is at peace now and is looking after his loved ones from above. Jonathan

  • Making memories...definitely a goal of our family, which Dan fit right into. Every memory I have of Dan brings a smile to my face. Punta Cana, Lions football games, and numerous vacations up north. Dan was a one-of-a-kind man and his presence will be greatly missed. God definitely took a good one. Tricia
