Obituary

Darryl Mitchell Miller, born on May 26, 1962, passed away peacefully at the age of 62, surrounded by his family, on August 25, 2024, at University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor. A dedicated entrepreneur and business owner since high school, Darryl held the degree of Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Michigan. He possessed an innate ability to repair what many others deemed nearly impossible and applied that ability in his daily work as a project manager and engineering consultant.

Darryl was a dedicated husband and father, and his love for his family was unwavering. He enjoyed supporting his children in their every endeavor, encouraging them to pursue their passions relentlessly. A lifelong Christian, he left a legacy of faith to his family and so many others that knew him. His appreciation and passion for music was a part of his daily life, and he enjoyed the great outdoors immensely.  He is preceded in death by his father Mitchell Miller and sister Maureen Miller. He is survived by Victoria Miller, his high school sweetheart and beloved wife of 37 years, and his cherished children Eric (Kimberly) Miller and Nathan Miller. He also leaves behind his mother Margaret Miller, sister Denise (David) Doede, and brother Brian (Christine) Miller.

His legacy will continue to live on through the memories and stories shared by those who knew, loved, and respected him.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the University of Michigan Hospital’s Neurosurgery ICU Gift Fund which provides support for activities and research advancing patient-centered and family-centered care in the Neurosurgical Intensive Care Unit or donations can be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church, 2550 Edsel St, Trenton, MI 48183

  • Dean and I are so very sorry for your loss. Please know that you all will be kept in our thoughts and prayers for God's comfort, love, and peace in the days ahead. Charlene Zink
  • My sincerest condolences to Vicki, Eric, and Nathan. And to my Aunt Marge, and cousins Denise and Brian. Darryl was a gentle giant with a brilliant mind and a sweet disposition. A very kind and loving man, just like his Father. Such a blessing that his entire family had a chance to say good bye and to let him know, from all us, how much he was loved. Michael Waxer
  • Vicki, I am so sorry to hear about Darryl. I cannot imagine what you are feeling right now. I am praying for you and your family. I am praying God will comfort you especially in the quiet times, when you rise up in the morning and lay down at night. Take care of yourself. Shelly Dow
  • Vicki, our prayers go out to you and your family. Darryl was a great guy and an outstanding engineer! John Burtka
  • I am so sorry that you all had to say goodbye so soon on this side of Heaven. Darryl was so friendly and kind. He always made me feel loved and liked, and not just because we were related. He will be missed deeply by his family and widely by all who knew him. Mary H
