Obituary

Gail Linnet Melvin, born on May 28, 1943, passed away on November 24, 2024, at the age of 81. A dedicated and hardworking woman, she devoted 37 years to her career at Ford Motor Company. She began on the line, transitioned to transporting cars, and near her retirement, she found fulfillment in janitorial work.

life was filled with simple pleasures and profound joys. She cherished working in her yard and took immense pride in her gardening. Her homes were a testament to her love for cleanliness and her dedication to maintaining immaculate properties. Above all, Gail found joy in the company of her beloved family, including her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was often seen in her favorite flannels, relishing the moments spent with those she held dearest.

She was preceded in death by her significant other, John Hancock; her son, Thomas Vernon Racho; her sister, Linda Bennett; and her parents, Arthur and June.

Gail is survived by her loving family: her sons, Benjamin "Ben" John Racho, and Richard "Rick" William (Kathy Attard) Racho, Sr.; her grandchildren, Thomas Racho, Maleta (Allen Grein) Racho, Ricky (Cari) Racho, Jr., Catherine (Brandon Cataldo) Racho, Maggie Racho, Caden, Jamie, and Aidan; her cherished great-grandchildren, Gavin, Ava, AJ, Vinnie, Liam, Alayna, Wesley, Carter, and Aiden. She is also survived by her brother, James (Faye) McKee, and her sister, Karen "Suzy" Rosendahl, as well as her former daughters-in-law, Robin Racho-Webster and Janet Nash-Kelley.

Gail's memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Condolences

  • I am so very sorry for your loss. Gail was many things to many people. She was strong and feisty and why she and my mom got along so well. They used to hang out and dance and laugh at the Rustic Manor for many years. Hoping they will find each other now and hang again. We are thinking of her family now during this difficult time. Until we meet again John and Kim Jahn
