MALDONADO, Gilbert S. age 64, of Rockwood, April 14, 2020. Beloved husband of Glenda Maldonado. Loving father of Stephen (Meghan) Maldonado and Nathan (Katie) Maldonado. Dearest grandfather of Adreanna Alanna and Elliott. Dear son of Mamie Davis and the late Artemio Maldonado. He is also survived his siblings Belinda Gurgul, Gloria Jackson, Artemio Maldonado and Thomas Maldonado. His cremation will take place at “The Witness Crematory” located inside of Michigan Memorial Funeral Home.

I remember Gil as one of the most giving members of the Lincoln Park congregation. When Ron and I were at Lincoln Park, Gil could always be depended on to organize the potlucks, picnics, and parties at the church. He was a great servant of God. He is with Jesus, my parents and bro Ricardo, Paul McGee my dearest nephew. To be absent from the body is to be present with the LORD. We loved Gilbert so much. He was a gentle soul with such a humble heart. He always thought of others when his difficulties in life were so much greater. Gil was without question the most courageous man i have ever known. His dedication to God and his family in spite of his horrendous physical problems were and are monuments to a great man. The world is a lesser place without him.

I am so blessed. Gilbert and l spoke and laughed together last week. Tia my cousins and l have a special bond., like siblings. While growing up we had beautiful memories. Got to know Gilbert very well. He loved everyone unconditionally. Respected and honored to the fullest. He will be deeply missed. I love y'all.
