Obituary
Glen Hasten Mead, Jr., passed away on March 27, 2026, in Dearborn, Michigan, at the age of 88. Born on May 19, 1937, in Elwood, Indiana, Glen's life was marked by creativity, humor, and an innate talent for building and fixing anything he set his mind to.
Glen's professional journey led him to a fruitful career as an engineer with Ford Motor Co., where he left a lasting mark with his ingenuity and dedication. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Glen was known for his remarkable ability to bring ideas to life, whether through his self-taught mastery of multiple trades or his adventurous spirit as a scuba diver. His fantastic sense of humor and boundless imagination made him a joy to those around him, and his family fondly remembers him as a fantastic father who could indeed build anything.
He was preceded in death by his spouses, Fontella and Joan; his son, Russell Mead; his sister, Phoebe Mead; and his parents, Glen Sr. and Mildred Mead. Glen is survived by his loving children: Glen (Karen) Mead, III, Douglas (Naomi) Mead, Scott Mead, and Melissa (Chip Cormany) Brown. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren: Michael, Katie, Stephanie, Jason, Glen, Ethan, Grant, Nathan, Julie, Allison, and Ryan, as well as 16 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Joyce Ann (the late Jake) Gephart, and daughter-in-law, Sandra Mead.
Celebrate His Life! Glorify his passing! God just brought home a great builder, carpenter, and fix it man. Someone God can say... "Fix it Glen, you got this." I, for one, look forward to joining him, to learn more about God and the master, Glen Mead. Our Dad!
Yatahey!
