Obituary
Glenda Starr Maldonado, born on August 19, 1949, in Detroit, Michigan, passed away on March 2, 2026, in Wyandotte, Michigan, at the age of 76.
Glenda was a devoted and compassionate individual who dedicated much of her life to caring for others. Her career as an in-home caretaker allowed her to touch many lives with her kindness and empathy. Later, she served as a host at Martenson Funeral Home, where her gentle demeanor and warm presence provided comfort to those in times of need.
A woman of deep faith, Glenda was actively involved in the Church of Christ in Lincoln Park. Her commitment to her community was evident through her participation in the Helping Hands organization, where she selflessly offered her time and energy to assist those around her.
Glenda had a passion for reading or solving crossword puzzles. She had a love for music and enjoyed expressing her creativity through arts and crafts.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gilbert Maldonado, and her parents, Alfred and Verconia Jones.
Glenda is survived by her loving children, Stephen (Meghan) Maldonado and Nathan (Katie) Maldonado; her cherished grandchildren, Elliott Maldonado, Adreanna Maldonado, and Alanna Gorham. She also leaves behind her dear siblings, Ted Jones, Paul Jones, Barry Jones, Beth McGreevy, Lee Jones, and Mark Jones.
Glenda will be remembered for her unwavering love and dedication to her family, her faith, and her community. Her gentle spirit and generous heart will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
