Obituary

Guy Louis Meggison, born on November 19, 1950, in Wyandotte, Michigan, passed away on January 30, 2026, in Taylor, Michigan, at the age of 75.

Guy dedicated over 50 years of his life to the steel industry, where he was known for his tireless work ethic and commitment to his colleagues. As a proud member of the United Steel Workers, he not only contributed to the industry but also offered guidance and support to his fellow employees through the employee assistance program. His selflessness and willingness to help others were hallmarks of his character.

A true sports enthusiast, Guy had a deep love for all Detroit sports teams, including the Lions, Tigers, Pistons, Red Wings, and all of the college teams. His passion for sports began in his youth, where he excelled in baseball, football, and wrestling. Those who knew him will remember his wonderful sense of humor and his reputation as an overall good person.

Guy was preceded in death by his son, Bruce Meggison; his father, Leo Ward Meggison, his mother, Emma Marie Brucker, and his brother, Jeff Meggison.

He is survived by his sister, Robin (Dave) Fairfield; his brother, Edward (Barbara) Meggison; and his stepbrother, Paul (Holly) Brucker. He also leaves behind his son, Chris, his grandson, Cameron, and his stepdaughter, Heather (Don) Johnson; as well as many other family members and friends who will miss him dearly.

Guy's legacy of kindness, humor, and dedication to those around him will be fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
