John Richard Montroy, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on October 27, 2025, at the age of 89 in Detroit, Michigan. Born on May 28, 1936, in Highland Park, Michigan, John spent his life surrounded by the love of family and the beauty of nature.
John was a man of artistic spirit, finding joy and fulfillment in painting and wood carving. His talents as a beautiful artist were matched only by his patience and skill as a fisherman, where he found peace and contentment.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Nelson and Dorothy Montroy, and his identical twin brother, James Montroy. John leaves behind a loving family who will cherish his memory forever. He is survived by his devoted wife, Donna; his children, Michele (Karl) Bendy and Suzanne (Timothy) Parker; and his grandchildren, Melissa (Charles), Amanda (Scott), Matthew (Anna), John, and Andrew (Hannah). John's legacy continues through his great-grandchildren, Briana, Isla, Ariana, Caiden, Emeline, and Christian. He also leaves his brother, Ronald (Donna) Montroy, to mourn his passing.
John's life was filled with the simple pleasures of family and creativity, leaving an indelible mark on those fortunate enough to know him. His gentle spirit, warm smile, and passion for the arts and the outdoors will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.
