Obituary

Juanita Lucille Motts, born on April 21, 1948, in Detroit, Michigan, passed away peacefully at home on September 20, 2024, in Milan, Michigan, at the age of 76.

Juanita dedicated over 25 years of her professional life to Sams Club, and also shared her talents by selling Home Interiors. She was known for her vibrant spirit and zest for life, which she expressed through a variety of interests. She found joy in playing Bingo and was an avid fan of the Detroit Red Wings, frequently attending games. Juanita cherished her friends and family, serving as the unifying force and leader of the family. Her love for cooking was well-known, as was her passion for travel, having visited Shipshewana, Hawaii twice, and enjoyed numerous cruises. She found pleasure in attending concerts and riding motorcycles with her beloved husband where she was involved with the Christian Motorcycle Association. In her earlier years, she was an enthusiastic bowler. The family cabin up north was a special place for her, and she always had the companionship of a loyal dog. Juanita's laughter and joyous spirit were infectious, bringing light and happiness to those around her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Virginia Mitchell, and her siblings, Robert "Bobby" Mitchell, Sandra Kochioan, Kay Burns, and Helen Mitchell.

Juanita is survived by her devoted spouse, George Motts, and her loving children, Alex (Hayley) Motts, Michelle (Lothar) Ullrich, and Danielle (Bob) Betts. Her legacy lives on through her cherished grandchildren, Ashley (Gary) German, Joshua (McKenzee) Betts, Alexander Ullrich, Maximilian Ullrich, Oliver Ullrich, Katherine Ullrich, and Gordie Motts, as well as her four great-grandchildren.

Her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Her cremation will take place at “The Witness Crematory” located inside of Michigan Memorial Funeral Home.
