Obituary

Kimberly Carla McKenzie, affectionately known as Kim, passed away peacefully on August 24, 2026, in Detroit, Michigan, at the age of 56. Born on February 17, 1970, in Dearborn, Michigan, Kim lived a life full of love, dedication, and passion.

Kim devoted her professional life to caring for animals as a Veterinarian Technician, a role that perfectly aligned with her deep love for all creatures. Her compassion extended beyond her work, as she was known for her selflessness and loving nature, always putting others before herself.

A woman of diverse interests, Kim found joy in gardening, particularly tending to her beloved roses, and cherished spending time outdoors under the sun. She was an avid motorcyclist, often seen riding alongside her devoted husband of 35 years, Kurt McKenzie. Together, they embarked on memorable journeys, including two cherished trips to Virginia.

Kim's commitment to community and service was evident through her involvement with several organizations. She was a dedicated member of Operation Home Front, supporting families with loved ones in the military. Additionally, she was actively involved with the Lansing Muzzleloading Gun Club, the American Legion Post 248, and the N-SSA.

Kim is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Sharon Guiliani, and her sister, Charlene Sell (nee Guiliani). She leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish her memory: her beloved husband, Kurt McKenzie; her children, Michael Guiliani, Danielle (Josh) Tilly, and Lowell E. McKenzie II; and her adored grandchildren, Tyren, Haylee, Little Mike, Kaydance, Levi, Everett, and Kalista. She is also survived by her siblings, Tony Guiliani, Wendy Guiliani, and John Guiliani.

Kimberly Carla McKenzie will be remembered for her unwavering love, her generous spirit, and her zest for life. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
