Obituary

Linda Lee Maier, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on March 23, 2026, in Brownstown Township, Michigan, at the age of 78. She was born on July 6, 1947, in Cincinnati, Ohio, where she spent her early years surrounded by family.

Linda led a life rich in love and devotion, always prioritizing her family and faith. Her nurturing spirit and compassionate nature were evident to all who knew her. She had a deep interest in nursing, which reflected her innate desire to care for others, and her strong Christian faith was a cornerstone of her life.

She is fondly remembered by her surviving children, Jennifer (Jim) VanGorp and Suzanne (John) Olsen, who carry forward her legacy of love and kindness. Linda also leaves behind her son-in-law, Jim Fera.

Linda's memory will forever be treasured by her five grandchildren—Matthew (Dakota), Andrew (Alicia), Jameson, Alleson, and Camden—who brought immense joy to her life. Her great-grandchild Emerson was a source of delight and pride, and Linda's heart was full with the promise of future generations.

She is survived by her siblings Joe (Fran) Hall, Donna (Dale) Autenrieb, Virginia (Dan) Ries, and Steve (Jeri) Hall, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom held a special place in her heart.

Preceded in death by her loving husband Richard Maier and her dear daughter Katherine Fera.

Linda Lee Maier's memory will be cherished by all who were fortunate to know her, and her spirit will remain a guiding light for her family and friends.

Condolences

  • I am so shocked and sorry to see that your mom has passed. She and I would check in with each other occasionally. Again, I'm sorry to see this. She was so funny and we would talk about the old days. Love, Aunt Linda Linda Maier Micallef
