Obituary
Luster Lee Meek, born on December 22, 1950, in Paintsville, Kentucky, passed away on September 19, 2026, in Flat Rock, Michigan, at the age of 75.
Luster dedicated many years of his life to working for the UAW at Ford Motor Company, where he was well respected among his colleagues for his dedication and work ethic. Outside of his professional life, Luster had a passion for fishing and took great joy in spending time by the water, often accompanied by his loved ones. He was an avid car enthusiast, finding satisfaction in fixing cars, a skill he generously shared with family and friends.
A devoted family man, Luster cherished every moment spent with his grandchildren, with whom he proudly shared his love of gardening and hosting memorable fish fry get-togethers. His family was the center of his world and he found immense joy in their accomplishments and company.
Luster is preceded in death by his parents, Luster and Wilma Meek, and his sister Sue Ward. He leaves behind a large and loving family, including his children Kathy (Shawn) Weiss and Stephanie (Jeremy) Callahan; stepchildren Kerri Cross and Perry A. Cross, Jr.; his beloved grandchildren Jordan Meek, William Gordon, Makayla Beckes, Savanna Rose Callahan, Ava Grace Callahan, and Chloe Meek Callahan; and step-grandchildren Jenna Cross, Erica Cross, Perry Cross III, and Pierre Cross.
He is also survived by his siblings James (Debbie) Meek, Helen (the late James) Joslin, Locia (the late Norm) Lang, Linda (Chuck) Leffler, and Tammy (Harold) Ratliff; his brother-in-law Clarence Ward; and several nieces, nephews and great-grandchildren who will dearly miss him.
The family invites friends and loved ones to join them for visitation on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Michigan Memorial Funeral Home. A service to honor and remember Luster's life will be held at 6:00 PM.
Luster Lee Meek will be remembered for his kindness, love of family, and the simple joys he brought to those around him. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
