Mamayek, Mary, age 90, of Carleton, passed away peacefully December 30, 2012. Friends may call from 10:00 AM-1:00 PM Thursday, with funeral service by Father John Hedges to follow at Michigan Memorial Funeral Home, (next to Michigan Memorial Park) 30895 Huron River Dr., Huron Twp., (734) 783-2646. Cremation will follow. Born on September 8, 1922 in Detroit, Michigan, daughter of John and Mary (Stronski) Kolodziejczyk, she married Al on January 17, 1941 in Maybee, MI. He preceded her in death on July 27, 2005. Mary worked at Wolverine Plastics in Milan until retiring and then as a custodian at Airport Schools. She was a lifetime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Maybee. Surviving are her son, John (Judy) of Toledo, daughter Cindy (Ken) Jones-Freimark of Milan, sister Wanda Hrobak of Taylor, grandchildren Brian Mamayek, Karen Sheats and Kim (Ben) Gilson, great grandchildren Douglas, Kevin and David Sheats and Caroline and Justine Gilson. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter Phyliss and sisters, Julia Kruszko and Helen Skluzak and her son-in-law Randy Jones.
