Obituary
Mary Alberta McCroskey, born on December 2, 1938, in Pageton, West Virginia, passed away peacefully on April 14, 2026, in Brownstown, Michigan, at the age of 87.
Mary was a compassionate and loving woman whose life was filled with warmth and generosity. For 30 years, she was a devoted member of Kirby Church, where she was an integral part of their Wild Cats group. Her faith and community were central to her life, and she cherished the friendships she made through her church.
Mary possessed a remarkable love for travel, often seeking new places and experiences that broadened her horizons. She found joy in hosting gatherings, welcoming friends and family into her home with open arms. Her hospitality knew no bounds, and her home was a place where everyone felt welcome.
She was known for her generous spirit, always ready to lend a hand or offer support to those in need. Her love for music was particularly evident in her admiration for the Gaithers, whose melodies brought her great comfort and happiness.
Mary was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Paul McCroskey, her parents, Avery and Martha Ellis, and her son, Mark McCroskey. Her memory will be cherished by her surviving family: her son Kent (Renee) McCroskey; her two granddaughters, Makenna (Jared) Runion, and Jordan (Jacob) Maxwell; and her four great-grandchildren, India, Teddy โTRโ, Ellie, and Parker.
Mary's life was a testament to love, kindness, and faith. She will be dearly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her legacy of warmth and generosity will continue to inspire those she leaves behind.
