Obituary
Norma “Sweet Norms” Milner, (77) was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She left this world suddenly on September 24, 2022, with her family by her side.
She was born to the late Cleveland and Sallie Mae Dailey on November 16, 1944, in Pensacola, FL. Norma had two siblings, the late Cleveland Dailey Jr., and a sister Rhonda Richmond-Hayes. Norma Graduated from Escambia High School where she was dedicated to the marching band, where she played the clarinet. Escambia High is where she met her loving husband Ned, and they were married on May 25, 1963. Ned and Norma had four children Cornelia, Felicia, Ned Jr., and Kwame. They moved from Pensacola in 1969 where they moved to their forever home in Detroit, MI.
During her life, Norma loved school; she attended WCCCD and worked as a nursing assistant. However, her lobe for helping others and children spilled into here work as a Girl Scout Leader where she later was appointed the position of Neighborhood Service Unit Director. Norma was an avid and dedicated member of Liberty City Church of Christ. She loved working in the kitchen and helping during Vacation Bible School.
Norma was a loving and caring woman, always giving her time to others. She spent most of her time caring for her family. Her favorite things to do were cooking, sewing, camping, singing, gardening, taking care of her plants and her backyard swimming pool. Her smile was affectious, and she was the sweetest person ever (She didn’t get the name “Sweet Norms” for nothing)!
Norma is survived by her husband of 59 years, Ned Milner, Sr., four children; Cornelia French (Scott), Felica Anderson, Ned Milner Jr., and Kwame Milner; two adopted granddaughters: Nyia Brooks (Martin) and Malissa Milner; sister: Rhonda Richmond-Hayes (Michael); 16 grandhcildren: Scott French (Akeysha), Carmen Jackson, Candice French, Corey French, Miquella Anderson, Shannon Alexander (Eric) Mizel Anderson (Demetra), Melanie Burton (Carez), Shontel French, Chelsea Adams (Carlton), Meleecia Anderson, Madison Anderson, Melana Anderson, and Bernard Turner; 35 Great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; Goddaughter: Davelle Fears and a host of aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.
